Parallels and Transitions looks at the parallels of patterns and structures in both micro and macro forms and creating transitions between them. I looked at natural forms that grow and metamorphose, such as minerals, rocks, bones, rust, bacteria and water.
Visiting Carrara
As part of my research for this project, I visited the marble quarries in Carrara, Italy. An amazing trip thanks to the miners who's pity on two women with a lot of camera equipment and their inadequate little Fiesta; took us on a hair raising but once in a lifetime lift to the top. A special thanks to my mum for her company on this trip and most importantly for sponsoring it.
